I had a conversation with a friend last Thursday about MJ’s passing. Her nieces and nephews who are only around 8, or 9 do not really get it, but teenagers around 13 they kind of get it. But I was one of the people that didn’t get the Elvis thing, but I get Michael (new face and all)…

I didn’t get Elvis until I was about 20. And the funny thing about Michael is that I got him when I was 12 and it stuck with me, through all his strange and mysterious changes, that impact hit – what’s cool is that it’s around 12 or 13 that you pick up on this stuff and it could be sneakers or music or whatever, but it stays with you forever!

MJ? Is this true? Is this company making the shoe again? I just heard this from a friend. I have the originals, but they are in pretty bad shape. Tell me the truth, is this for real? Just marketing I suspect. Right?

We’ve definitely expressed to the powers that be at LA Gear the strong support fans have for reviving the MJ! They are really into the idea and we’ll let you know more as soon as we do but nothing’s been confirmed. I can tell you it’s not a marketing ploy to put the idea out there, the idea’s come from you guys… let’s keep our fingers crossed!

Amazing how you don’t have a site to contact LA Gear with a negative comment. I bought a pair of Break Point sneakers just 3 weeks ago and already there is tear in one of the seams. So much for quality.

We can’t confirm anything, but it’s looking promising as far as bringing back the MJs… We do know that it takes months to get something like that done, but we’re on it and the first news of any plans will be posted here!

LA gear is re-doing their corporate site so for now we are passing all comments along to them – our blog focuses on the LA Gear Originals line, so we don’t know too much about the Break Point but we have let them know about this…
