<span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image" style="DISPLAY: inline"></a>&nbsp;</span>I was five years old when the <b>L.A. Gear Unstoppable</b> line hit the market in 1989. I was too focused on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to notice, but L.A. Gear was riding high with amazing styles that would become synonymous with the brand: the Women&#8217;s Flame and Men&#8217;s Fire High come to mind, among many others. </p>
<p>L.A. Gear did not stop there. It followed up that line with huge hits, such as the Catapult in<br />
<span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image" style="DISPLAY: inline"><a onclick="window.open('http://lagearnews.com/080729_dg_0084_product.html','popup','width=650,height=435,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false" href="http://lagearnews.com/080729_dg_0084_product.html"><img class="mt-image-right" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 20px 20px" height="63" alt="080729_dg_0084_product.jpg" src="http://lagearnews.com/080729_dg_0084_product-thumb-95x63.jpg" width="95" /></a></span>1991 and The Light Ups by Light Gear in 1992-93. When I was 8 or 9, I got my first pair of L.A. Gear shoes &#8211; the Kid&#8217;s Light Gear. They were my absolute favorite shoes as a kid. </p>
<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image" style="DISPLAY: inline"><a onclick="window.open('http://lagearnews.com/081203_D3_1024_Proof.html','popup','width=800,height=531,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false" href="http://lagearnews.com/081203_D3_1024_Proof.html"><img class="mt-image-left" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 20px 20px 0px" height="63" alt="081203_D3_1024_Proof.jpg" src="http://lagearnews.com/081203_D3_1024_Proof-thumb-95x63.jpg" width="95" /></a></span>I&#8217;m now 24, and the Director of L.A. Gear Specialty Product. My dad, Steven Jackson, is the CEO of ACI International so I have been around the shoe business my whole life. But there&#8217;s a fine line between loving the shoe biz and becoming obsessive about a brand. When I started working for ACI, I tracked down all of the old L.A. Gear catalogs and dug into them the way a baseball fan might dig into a fresh pack of trading cards. As I looked through the catalogs, starting in 1989 and the early 1990&#8242;s, I quickly began to feel envious of people who were old enough to<br />
<span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image" style="DISPLAY: inline"><a onclick="window.open('http://lagearnews.com/081203_D3_0992_Proof.html','popup','width=800,height=531,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false" href="http://lagearnews.com/081203_D3_0992_Proof.html"><img class="mt-image-left" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 20px 20px 0px" height="63" alt="081203_D3_0992_Proof.jpg" src="http://lagearnews.com/081203_D3_0992_Proof-thumb-95x63.jpg" width="95" /></a></span>appreciate these awesome shoes when they first appeared. </p>
<p>All of the catalogs had some amazing shoes. but the catalog that really stuck out and caught my eye was the 1989-1990 Unstoppable line. I tracked down all of the styles from that time so I could recreated them exactly as they were. It&#8217;s now been 20 years since the shoes were on the market, so I figured it would be a great time to bring back the &#8220;Unstoppable&#8221; line. Not only do men and women my age finally get to experience these cool L.A. Gear shoes, but people who dug these styles &#8211; before they became extinct &#8211; now have a chance to rock them again. </p>
<p><span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image" style="DISPLAY: inline"><a onclick="window.open('http://lagearnews.com/081203_D3_1055_Proof.html','popup','width=797,height=800,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false" href="http://lagearnews.com/081203_D3_1055_Proof.html"><img class="mt-image-right" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 20px 20px" height="95" alt="081203_D3_1055_Proof.jpg" src="http://lagearnews.com/081203_D3_1055_Proof-thumb-95x95.jpg" width="95" /></a></span>The &#8220;Unstoppable&#8221; line has just re-launched exclusively at Sportie LA, and people are loving the shoes. It&#8217;s a very exciting time for the L.A. Gear company, along with the consumers, bringing back into the marketplace styles that are at once classic and new. I&#8217;m not sure if it&#8217;s the timing or the staying power of the styles, but it feels like we&#8217;ve hit a nerve. And this is only the beginning. <a href="http://www.sportiela.com/lagear" target="_blank"><strong>NOW ON SALE</strong></a></p>
